At Brown University, education for the undergraduate has as its purpose the fostering of the intellectual and personal growth of the individual student.
The University sponsors a formal program of summer study for Brown students. The Winter Session is a further compressed academic experience available to Brown students
The University, at graduation, grants honors to students whose work in the field of concentration has demonstrated superior quality and culminated in an honors thesis of distinction
Brown and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) offer a 5 year Dual Degree Program. Students may receive a Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) degree from Brown and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree from RISD.
It is possible to receive academic course notations on the transcript on the basis of Advanced Placement (AP) examinations.
